2025-26 AASAP Annual Report
The 2025-26 academic year marked the Asian American Student Academic Program’s second full year in operation. We celebrated our biggest year yet, with four Full-Time Staff, two Graduate Research Assistants, five Federal Work-Study undergraduate workers, and countless stories of student success.
Last year, we launched our Inaugural Annual Report. To continue assessing and sharing our milestones, Avanthi Anand, AASAP Graduate Research Assistant, and Yunkyo Kim, Program Assistant, went directly to those who inspire us: our students.
This report centers their voices to highlight reflections on AASAP advising and programming. It also provides figures on AASAP’s key initiatives, shares news of awards received, highlights collaborations with UIC campus partners, and updates our community on our funding structure. It concludes with AASAP Director Dr. Viraj Patel’s vision for AASAP 2026-27, bolstering our mission to support student success, retention, persistence, and graduation. They are firmly grounded in our community’s needs and dreams.
2024-25 AASAP Annual Report
The 2024-25 academic year marked the Asian American Student Academic Program’s fully operational first year, ringing in the Spring semester with four Full-Time Staff, two Graduate Research Assistants, two Federal Work-Study undergraduate workers, and countless stories of student success.
To commemorate AASAP’s milestone, we solicited AASAP community members – UIC students who participated in AASAP’s Academic Advising or programming initiatives – to share their academic, career, and life achievements.
This report compiles testimonies and interviews with AASAP students, centering their voices to highlight reflections on AASAP advising and programming. The report will also provide figures on AASAP’s key initiatives, highlighting collaborations with GLAS and AANAPISI, and UIC campus partners. It will conclude with AASAP Director Dr. Viraj Patel’s vision for AASAP 2025-26, bolstering AASAP’s mission to support student success, retention, persistence and graduation, in line with the Chancellor’s priorities.
